Professional Bed Bug Removal

We always recommend calling a professional vs. attempting to solve a bed bug problem yourself. Professionals have the experience, equipment and access to insecticides that aren't always as easily available to home owners. The biggest downside of hiring a bed bug exterminator is cost, which can include a charge for the inspection and a separate charge for treatment. Together this can cost $750 or more. For this reason we suggest:

Don't be shy about asking questions as they move through the home. Reputable contractors should be willing and able to explain to you what they're doing, why they're doing it and how they're going to treat your problem. Some also offer or refer dog services, employing specially trained dogs to sniff out evidence of bugs.

Be advised: Sprays merely kill the adult bed bugs which means the eggs that have already been laid will hatch into the same problem approximately one month later. This is why other exterminators will tell you it will take multiple treatments

Bed Bug Inspection

We hired BBIG after reading the reviews on yelp, and we couldn't have been happier with the results.   Jon and his beagle, Daisy came by the next day.   First, Jon did a manual visual inspection, and then he brought Daisy in to do her job.  Thankfully, none of the little creatures were found, but since we had found one in our house the day before, caught it and froze it so Jon could confirm it was, on fact a BB, Jon offered to come back and do a second inspection in two weeks.   He also made several suggestions to us.   Luckily, we continue to be BB free, but is highly recommend this service.

4.  Using the spatula, carefully “scoop” debris from under the baseboard. Angle the spatula so the leading edge rests on the floor and the trailing edge scrapes along the baseboard underside. This method will often crush bugs, so pay attention to blood spots or insect parts.

What Is A Bed Bug Inspection

Fumigation is a complicated process usually associated with termite extermination. During a fumigation, your home will be covered in tarpaulin, which is generally anchored using large containers of water you must provide. Vikane gas is then pumped into the house where it is distributed throughout the structure by strategically placed fans. The use of fumigation has numerous advantages and disadvantages which you should consider before selecting this type of treatment.

+ Gradually remove the dust cover (“ticking”) from the back of the box spring ** continue looking under any folds and where the mattress fabric fastens to the frame. + Look in any depressions, countersunk screws and under any staples that are not flush with the frame.

Bed bugs are resistant to pesticides and home remedies tend to scatter more bugs than they kill, making treatment more difficult. Instead, professional exterminators use a combination of methods to eliminate the infestation. The success of these methods may be adversely affected if you do not properly prepare for the treatment.

Starting in the bedroom, the inspector will examine each piece of furniture, rugs, and the area immediately surrounding it for any signs of infestation. In some cases, they may probe cracks and crevices looking for hidden bugs. These signs include:

Pros: Professional, Thorough, Punctual, and Polite. Cons: None. You will regret not calling him if you suspect you have a BB infestation. Jonathan was extraordinarily polite, accommodating, and thorough. We had one bug show up in our apartment and we freaked. We called BBIG and they were here within hours, on time, and did a full inspection of our home. He explained everything, made sure we were kept abreast of all that was happening as he went, and asked us if we had any questions afterward. After he released the cute little hound we were double assured of this being a singular incident, but he still gave us follow up options to be aware of should it reoccur. Could not have ask for a better turn out, BBIG is worth every penny!

If you're reading this debating if you should hire this company. DONT HESITATION FOR A SINGLE SECOND. Let me start out by saying I have a HUGE bed bug phobia. Huge. I have all white sheets (which I change weekly upon my own visual inspection) a mattress encasement, bed bug trappers on all my furniture and the like. I know their different stages, their patterns, etc. I cross the street when I see a mattress on the sidewalk. I'm insane. I know. So when I woke up with a couple mysterious bites that looked even remotely possibly maybe like bed bug bites, like all rationally-minded people I freaked the fuck out. I had used a different dog sniffing company a while back upon moving to my new apartment (just to be sure) and I felt like the whole process was rushed and not very thorough. He simply walked the dog around my apartment without moving anything and then said "you're clear".   Not Jonathan. Most professional encounter I've ever had. My boyfriend called him at 8:30am and he was at our door by 10am. He pulled our bed apart, checked each individual slat. He even folded our sheets upon removing them to check the mattress. He took pictures off the walls, pulled apart our pull out couch, went through our closets. Making sure that he asked if we were ok with him moving and touching things along the way. He checked every pillow. EVERYTHING. and he wore booties as to not track dirt. I was so impressed. He told us he saw no signs of any bedbugs whatsoever but that the dog still needed to do its work because sometimes she can be more thorough. When he took the dog out she immediately went to work. The previous company had to point to exactly where it wanted the dog to check. Not "sway". Jonathan walked her around our apartment and she sniffed EVERYTHING on her own. He put her back in the cage and said he's going to reassemble the apartment (he took EVERYTHING apart remember?) and have her sniff again. Sway did another inspection of the apartment and still no signs bedbugs (thank the lord). He said the few bites I got could be a spider (probably) or even aggressive mosquitos. If his work can assure ME of all people that my apartment is actually beg bug free, he is a miracle worker. And he did exactly that. I feel so confident in his work and his inspection. God forbid I ever have another scare I know exactly who I will call without hesitation. Call them. Call them NOW.

Bed Bug Inspection Near Me

Best service in NYC. We called in on a Sunday because we found a suspicious bug traveling through our bed. The person that answered the phone was extremely helpful guiding us with questions about the house and why we thought we had bed bugs. We took a photo of the bug and the inspection group offered to identify it at no extra charge! Luckily we didn't need the inspection but we recommend this service to all new yorkers!

Upon completion of the inspection, the exterminator will be able to confirm whether there is an infestation and, if so, how extensive. From there, they will be able to recommend the best possible treatment method.

General Bed Bug Information

Bed Bug Specialist

After hours and hours of challenging work he found a single bedbug lodged in the wood frame of the headboard of our bed. On the theory that there were others that did not reveal themselves, Muhammad carefully dismantled the bed and used steam and chemicals to rid the house of this nuisance. He had deep understanding of what needed to be done and pursued those steps vigorously. By day's end, we were told that everything had been accomplished.

However, in a month or two we experienced a resurgence of these pests. So we called Muhammad and he returned to our home with all of his equipment within a day or two. Pest Solutions Services had promised to return again and again, if necessary, as part of their quality control promise to eliminate these pests for good. To date he has returned and expended many hours searching for and eliminating our pests. All at no additional charge, as he had promised. And on these occasions he did not gloss over anything: He wanted to find the root cause of this now intermittent and much diminished insect population.

These guys are terrific - they made it an easy and painless process, and were always super helpful - always there for us fast with an answer and accommodating to our needs, as well as our crazy schedule. Highly recommend BBFS - they even have a sense of humor, which just took all the stress out of it for us.

Bed bugs are only one-fifth inch long, or about the equivalent of an apple seed. Although theydont fly, bed bugs can move fairly rapidly over walls, floors and ceilings, and they can quicklymultiply into a large infestation.

About a year ago my wife and I were unbearably itchy, but we could not ascertain the cause. We keep a clean house and did not discover any bed bugs after an intense search. We thought that we were in contact with some allergen. It was beyond comprehension that the cause of our plight was a well-fed bedbug, but we took positive steps to ensure that was the case and began the process of identifying a professional. After a lengthy search on the Web we located Muhammad Akram of Pest Solution Services. Muhammad is incredibly knowledgeable about all types of pests encountered in a residential setting. Indeed, he holds a B.Sc degree (Honours) in Entomology and Plant Pathology and has a considerable depth of scientific knowledge which he readily applied when we hired the company to inspect and remediate the situation at home.

Andy calmly walked me through everything that needed to be done, and responded quickly every time I called. He easily accommodated my tricky timing of things, and 2 weeks after moving no sign of bugs at new place (though our apt was never really infested, the one downstairs was)

Bedbugs feed on humans and animals by piercing the skin and withdrawing blood. Theyfeed for several minutes until they are full and then crawl away unnoticed. In most casesyou will not be able to feel a bed bug bite at first, but it eventually turns into an itchy weltthat often is mistaken for mosquito or flea bites.

Trying to treat bed bugs yourself can also cause the insects to spread to other areas of your home, making it much more difficult for anyone, including professionals, to eradicate them from yourproperty.

Why Is Bed Bug Treatment So Expensive

Depending on the treatment method developed for your particular home or business there may be materials used with a certain level of toxicity, labels for these materials will be provided before service is performed, and you may be required to vacate the property for several hours.

Bed Bug And Treatment

Bed Bug treatments may vary from company to company - there is no specific treatment. Treatments vary from conventional residual Liquid and Dust solutions to Heat and Freezing. A detailed inspection by a professional is always the best course of action in developing a treatment method that will meet your bed bug exterminating needs.

If you have a bed bug problem in your home or business, callBee Safe Pest Controlat (888) 420-7540 to speak to a pest control specialist. Our licensed, professional technicians will respondpromptly and make sure that bed bugs are eradicated from your living space.

Bed Bug Treatment With Pets

Wow is all I can say. After dealing with BBs for almost a year, we decided we had two options: throw out all of our things and buy all new things, or fumigate with Vikane gas.  After doing research on Vikane and the two companies that perform the fumigation in NY, we decided on BBFS.  I called and spoke directly with Andy.  He not only told us what to do (how to pack, what could be fumigated, etc) but he gave us several options for movers (++ choose your own!) and a K9 inspection team. Leading up to the fumigation, Andy was available for my paranoid questions (ha) minor freak outs (haha) and random emails (I really hate these bugs).  Although I never met him in person, he was friendly, efficient on the phone and accessible. Granted, we are early to determine if this was a full on victory - however - there is a 90 day guarantee that if we have bugs again, we will be refumigated for free. (Since we got the K9 inspection...SO WORTH THE PIECE OF MIND!)  Andy's knowledge, calming personality/demeanor and excellent customer service helped us through an extremely stressful time. As the other poster mentioned...the paranoia is starting to go away, very slowly.  I really hope I never have to talk to Andy again-but if you need fumigation and want to deal with professionals all the way, BBFS is the way to go.

Thank you for the positive review, Simon, We are delighted that you have learned from us and are equipped to prevent bed bugs in the future. We do our best to educate and satisfy our customers. Thank you for the recommendation.

It is extremely important to call a professional immediately if you know or suspect you have abed bug infestation. If you think you may have bed bugs on your bed, its extremely importantthat you DO NOT start sleeping on another bed, sofa or other locations inside your home orsomeone elses home. That would only spread the bed bugs to a new site.

Bed Bug Specialist

About 2 months ago I discovered that my heritage house was infested with bedbugs. I immediately called a pest control company who had helped with mice in the past. They charged me $1000 and offered 2 treatments. Unfortunately, they caused more harm than good and after 3 weeks I was still finding bed bugs in my bedroom and in my bed. I found Pest Solution Services on Homestars and I could not be more grateful. Muhammad arrived for the initial inspection and confirmed that I had a serious problem. He took the time to answer my many questions and developed an effective treatment plan. He returned a few days later and began the 2 day process of treating each bedroom in our house - he was meticulous in his approach (something that the first company did not offer). I now understand that this is critical when dealing with bed bugs. He promised me that I would be able to sleep in my bed the night after he finished his treatment and he was true to his word. Muhammad's service does not end with treatment - he follows up with inspections and keeps in contact to ensure that the problem is truly solved. If you have bed bugs - call Muhammad - I doubt you will find anyone more knowledgeable or better equipped to help you get rid of these pests.

Look no further. This is the only sure, one stop shop to get rid of all the bedbugs+eggs in all your clothes, furniture, matress and electronics overnight. Literally. I have used Andy 's services twice now and it has been a godsend. The first was about three years ago when I was leaving an infestated apartment. Management wouldn't do anything so I call Andy and loaded everything into the truck. Drop it off and the next day everything is killed. The eggs, everything. It is very satisfying unpacking and finding dead bugs. Then a few months ago I found myself in the same situation and I immedeatly called Andy. He is attentive, compassionate and readily available to answer any and all questions.   This is the only way to KNOW everything is taken care of. LOOK NO FURTHER.

Frequently Asked Questions About Bed Bug Removal:

How Can I Stop Being Paranoid About Bed Bugs?
I Had To Deal With A Bed Bug Infestation Last Week. Even Though An Exterminator Came In And I Washed All My Stuff, I'M Still Very Paranoid. I'Ve Been Vacuuming Every Day, I Keep Spraying Alcohol On My Couch, I Have Trouble Falling Asleep In My Bed, During The Day I Keep Scratching And Imagining Itches, I Spend A Lot Of Time At Work Searching For Bed Bug Remedies And Repellents... Every Time I See A Dark Spot Or Speck I Freak Out, Even If It'S Just A Piece Of Lint Or Dirt. What Can I Do To Ease My Own Fears?

I had the same experience before as you are going through now.

In my case, even though I spent $$$ on exterminators, bed bugs kept coming back. And I tried sprays all over my house, but did not work.

I studied and found out that sprays do not work on bed bugs unless you spray directly on bed bugs. I think that is what the exterminator did as well. Using alcohol is the same. What happens is the sprays and alcohol dry up so quickly that the toxin is gone by the time bed bugs come back.

Then one of my friends told me about bed bug powder. You can buy it online for only $12 or something like that. All you need to do is just to sprinkle the powder on the infected areas. It says when bed bugs walk over the powder, the powder actually cuts bugs' shell (body). The powder is like lazer to bugs. I was doubtful of the powder at the begenning (too good to be true!!) but it worked!

I am still using the powder even though those nasty bed bugs are gone. It just gives me peaceful nights not worrying about the bites!!

Did A Bug Lay Eggs In My Pillow?
Two Nights Ago, I Saw This Small Worm/Centipede Like Bug On My Pillow. It Was White-Ish And Had A Brown Head (Or Butt). It Was Right In The Middle Of My Bed, And I Don'T Know How It Got There. When I Took A Tissue And Lifted It Off My Pillow, It Seemed Like It Pulled Out Some Of The Fabric, Because It Was Stuck To One End. Now I'M Looking At My Pillow, And There Are Two Teeny Tiny Dark Dots Where I Think The Bug Was. I Don'T Know If They Were There Before Or If It Is The Bugs Feces, Or My Worst Fear, It Layed Eggs In My Pillow. Help Please? What Should I Do If It Is Eggs? Also, Do You Think There Is More In My Bed? I Checked And Did Not See Anything.

if I were you I'd never sleep in my bedroom again! I remember when I had earwigs in my room 2 summers ago and I slept at friends or the spare room for a whole month. If I were you Id get a ton of raid and spray your room (windows open) and sleep somewhere else for a night or two... also either throw the pillow away or wash it then throw it in the dryer.

What To Eat To Repel Bed Bugs?
Since Bed Bugs Suck Blood Is Thre Enything In Our Food And Drink That When We Eat It Will Be Secreted In Our Blood And If We Are Bitten By Bed Bugs Our Own Blood Can Kill Them?

That's a good question actually.
I've had to deal with bed bugs a few times, and have even had to move.

I am one of those people who seem to attract bed bugs more so than my husband.
I would get bitten hundreds of times a night while my husband had no bites whatsoever.

To answer your question?
There is no type of food or drink that one can ingest to ward off bed bugs.

If you have bed bugs?
I strongly suggest you invest in a good mattress cover, which is specially designed to keep bed bugs out,and also prevent those trapped beg bugs from getting out.
It takes anywhere from 1 year to a year and a half to actually kill those trapped bed bugs. They die from starvation after that time....a year to a year and a half.

The specially designed mattress cover is a wonderful investment. A little costly...around $100+ for a good one. But definitely worth it.

Hope this helps.
Take care.

What Do Bed Bugs Hate And What Attracts Them?

Bed bugs do not like light; however, they will go in it to feed if necessary.
They don't like anything that kills them :P.

They are attracted by carbon dioxide, and body heat.
They love any hiding place, which is a lot, especially if you have clutter

Bed Bugs!!!! Please Read, Concerned! ?
I Stayed At A Friends House Last Night And I Noticed And Itching All Over My Back I Didnt Think Anything Of It Until This Morning When I Saw These Red Mosquito Bites All Over My Body. Hands, Back, Legs, Butt, And Feet. I Looked Up Bed Bug Bites An That Is Exactly What They Look Like And There Hot To The Touch. I Was Wondering If I Need To Go See A Doctor To Have Them Look At It Or If It Will Just Go Away In Time? Also, I Took A Shower Before I Left Her House How Likely Is It That The Bugs Got Transferred To My House Because I Did Not Wash My Clothes I Slept In Before I Came To My Home? I Will Choose Best Answer!

You don't have to see a doctor for bed bug bites. If the itching is too much to bear take antihistamines and/or use steroid creams and of course TRY TO AVOID SCRATCHING THEM, because if you scratch them very much they may get infected and then you'll have to see a doctor who will probably prescribe some antibiotic.

Now, it's unfortunately very possible that the bugs got transferred to your house with your clothing, because clothing is one of the places were bed bugs live and reproduce :/...
If when you returned home you went straight and washed the clothes (preferably with hot water) you were wearing at your friend's and had another shower then the possibilities of bed bugs are a lot less...
However, if you put your clothes with other dirty clothes... then... well... that wouldn't be good at all because the bed bugs would spread literally everywhere :/...

I really hope you don't get an infestation because it's very difficult to deal with and you will need treatment by a pest-control expert...
I wish you the best of luck...

Bed Bug Bites? Or Not?
I Have About 8 Bites Altogether On My Right And Left Leg. And Theres Even One On The Bottom Of My Foot. I Just Noticed All The Bites Yesterday When That Night I Had Slept-Over A Friends House. My Friend Doesn'T Have Any Bumps Or Bites That I Have Noticed. I 4 Bites On My Upper Thigh That Are In A Shape Of A Square. Could That Be A Sign Of The &Quot;Breakfast, Lunch, And Dinner&Quot;? All The Other Bites Are By Themselves Scattered On My Legs. They Itch Sometimes, But Not All The Time. They Don'T Have A Red Dot In The Middle But Are Red And Raised. They Are Pretty Large Bumps. Could This Be Bed Bugs? Or An Allergic Reaction To Something? Or Just Mosquito Bites? P.S. I Got An Eye Infection Yesterday If That Has Anything To Do With It. Thanks!

Bed bugs do not bite the bottoms of feet. When this type of reaction is seen, it is usually scabies. I've attached a resource with pictures of bed bugs bites (which have a clear center) and scabies, which is caused by mites that burrow under the first skin layer.

Bed Bugs In Hotel!!!!!?
Hi I Am A Guest Services Agent At A Hotel For Around 8 Months Now. This Morning I Just Heard That One Of Our Rooms Has Bed Bugs!! The Room Is 140 And My Front Desk Is Literally Just Across And Down The Hall From It. I Am A Little Worried Now About Putting My Purse On The Floor And Walking Into My House With My Work Clothes On. Also My Owner And Managers Didnt Even Seem To Care. Can I Refuse To Work There Due To Bed Bugs? Im Honestly Really Scared About Bringing Them Home.....Thats If I Haven'T Already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bed bugs only travel about 100 feet, so the risk to you is minimal. I'd just keep your purse off the floor and keep it zippered. If you are really concerned, get a big Zip Lock Big Bag and keep your purse zipped inside when you are not using it. This will keep bed bugs from getting inside.

Another option (one you should do anyway given where you work) is to spray any creases, seams and the zipper with a bed bug luggage spray (see resource). This will keep bed bugs away for 3 to 6 weeks at a time.

What Kind Of Bug Is On My Cat?
I Have An Indoor Cat. Every Spring/Summer He Gets The Same Kinds Of Bugs On Him. They Are Not Fleas. The Are About 3 Times As Big As A Flea, And A Brownish Color. We Live On A Farm, But I Don'T Know If That Is Relevant. I Don'T Think That They Are Particularly Harmful (They Don'T Appear To Bite Him), But He Sleep In My Bed And I Find It Kind Of Gross. We'Ve Tried Flee Baths And Drops, But They Always Come Ever Spring/Summer. They Responded To The Capstar Pill Last Summer If That Helps Any. Any Help Is Very Much Appreciated. It'S Been 5 Years And I Really Want This To Stop Happening.

Just one question - if your cat doesn't go out, where does he get these bugs from. It seems like they may be hibernating in your house. In general I wouldn't think you'd have the same kind of bug year after year unless they're in the house itself. I have 9 indoor cats who don't get fleas or ticks. I may bring in a tick from outside but once it's killed, there is no more. And by the way stay away from flea baths, they are extremely harmful, they are chemicals. There are better products on the market that aren't as traumatic or poisonous to cats. Whatever they are, I have a feeling, you aren't going to get rid of them with out finding out what they are and where they are coming from. Try taking one to the vet.

Bed Bugs Possibility?
So I Live In A College Dorm. I Got Back From Thanksgiving Break About 4 Days Ago, On A Sunday Night. All Day Monday, My Back And Upper Arms Were Unbearably Itchy, And When I Got Back To My Room, The Left Side Of My Face Swelled Up. I Took Some Benedryl And It Went Away, So I Dismissed It As An Allergic Reaction To Something I Ate. Wednesday Night, I Was Doing Homework In My Room, And My Arm Started To Itch, And Then A Welt Appeared.Kind Of What A Mosquito Bite Looks Like. I Went To Bed, And When I Woke Up In The Morning, I Had Welts On My Hands That Looked Like Bites, And My Legs Were Unbearable Itchy (But Didn'T Have Any Bites That I Could See). Becuase Of The Bed Bug Hype, I'Ve Been Freaking Myself Out. I'M A Clean Person, So I Hope This Isn'T From Bed Bugs. I'Ve Looked All Over My Beds And Sheets And I Haven'T Seen Any Bugs. It'S Weird, Becuase Before Break, None Of This Happened, It Was Only Until After... So Does It Sound Like I Have Bed Bugs? If I Wash All Of My Bedding, And Vacuum Will That Take Care Of Them?

having bed bugs has nothing to do with being a "clean person"
They are hard to see but since you did not have the problem before break, did you happen to get a new body wash or use a new laundry soap between then and now? Even a new shampoo could do it because if you shampoo in the shower, it gets all over your body.
Has the weather suddenly turned colder in your area? When that happens to me, I get itchy just because the heat is on and the air is dryer.
The welts sound like hives.

If you do have them, washing bedding could help but they live in the mattress.

Where Can I Find Anwsers About, What Bed Bugs Look Like?
I Live In A Oxford House, Which Is A Recovery House. Lately My Housemates And I Have Been Getting Bites About Our Bodies. I Have Found A Flat Round Bug With Legs Like A Centipede All The Way Around The Body Part Of The Insect. I Found This Insect Crawling Across My Bed.

You have to get rid of them and everything they ever came in contact with. They're nocturnal, so looking for the during the day probably won't work. They can live on wood, wallpaper, beds, furniture, etc.

Is this what they look like?

The sprays that kill the mature bed bugs usually do not kill their eggs, so you have to call in the professional bug killers to use thier heavy duty chemicals to kill the adults AND the eggs.

But you have to spray every part of the house, apartment building, on all levels otherwise you are just chasing the bugs from one room to the next to the next!

Bed Bugs: When People Move Out Of Apartments And They Bring Their Furniture With Them, Do All The Bed Bugs...?
Do All The Bed Bugs Travel Out With The Furniture Or Do Some Crawl On The Floor And Make Babies? How Long Will They Stay On The Floor If They Are On The Floor When They Move Out, Even With Nothing In The Apartment. I Mean, How Long Will They Stay On The Floor If The Apartment Is Empty? And What If The Apartment Has A Carpet, Will They Travel On It Forever? I Might Be Allergic To The Legs Of Bed Bugs, And Possibly The Bites Too, So It'S More Itchy Than It Is For Other People, Please Help Me!!! And If You Wash A Sleeping Bag, Even If It Has Holes That The Bed Bugs Can Crawl Through, Will The Bed Bugs Die?

Bed bugs are inside the walls and in the closet and they go from apartment to apartment and there are lots of eggs. Heat treatment cost a lot and it takes 120 degrees or more to kill the bugs. All the apartments need to be treated to kill the bedbugs.
Your sleeping bag can be washed in hot water and a cup of vinegar in the rinse water will kill the bugs.

OMG I HATE BED BUGS!!!!!!! I've had them living in my mattress for over a month. It sucks, doesn't it...

1:. You can kill them with your own hands
2:. Chemicals. They work most of the time
3:. Getting someone to do it for you
4:. New mattress, etc....
5:. Washing everything, making the room super hot (Or cold) That should kill a lot of them

And I think it's all I have right now, I remember having 7 ways but I guess I forgot them heh heh ^^;;

Do Bed Bugs Die When Sprayed With Raid?
And If They Do, How Long Does It Take? They Don'T Seem To Shrivel Up Like Spiders Or Go Into A Frenzy Like Cockroaches.

April,

The RAID is not going to work.

You may end up needing an exterminator to deal with this but I think you should look at some do-it-yourself options that you can spray on your furniture including your mattress to see if it is salvagable.

There are several chemical free bedbug products available. The one that I have used is called BedBug Terminator and it is sold online by a company called Kleen-Free. It will kill the bedbugs on contact as well as their eggs. You just spray it everywhere for a few days.

You do need to be patient and persistent with this or any treatment as bedbugs hide well and can go weeks without feeding.

Also, not sure if you live in an apartment and if the bedbugs have spread or not but everyone needs to treat them and not just you - maybe you can split the cost of whatever you choose.

Good luck

Sue

Bed Bugs? Please Help?
I Wold Up This Morning To A Bed Full Of Bed Bugs. How Do I Get Rid Of Them. My Brother Wants To Throw The Bed Away

Oh my, bed bugs are very hard to get rid of.
First, I suggest that you wash all of your bedding in very hot water.

You will also have to check all of your dresser drawers. Those little pests can get everywhere. You may have to wash all of your clothing.

You must also completely vacuum your room. Make sure you vacuum around all of your baseboards and your mattress. Take the vacuum outside and get rid of the dust bag inside. Clean your vacuum.

Also, get in touch with recommended pest control agency to go in and treat your mattress, bed and the entire room with a special product made to eradicate bed bugs.

You may have to do this several times as bed bugs lay eggs. That is why it is so important to vacuum. Check with your local health department for recommended pest control agencies who specialize in bed bugs.

What Can Bed Bugs Live On?
Okay I Know They Can Live In Beds, On Clothes And Everything Else But I'M An Art Student And I Have A Lot Of Sketch Pads/Paper That I Bought In Bulk For When I Have No Money Left. Do I Have To Throw Away All Of Them? And When I Mean I Bout In Bulk I Have Like Maybe 20 Sketch/Drawing/Watercolor Paper In A Closet. Not To Mention Canvas Cloth And Every Thing... Please Answer The Bed Of Your Ability. If You Don'T Know Don'T Answer!!

Bed bugs live inside of walls, in furniture and in closets. And in carpet and along the baseboards.

They live on blood. They crawl out of their places late at night and crawl onto beds and suck blood out of humans. They do not eat paper. If, they get on paper they will ruin it by pooping and shedding their shells. And laying eggs.
Bed bugs are like having blood sucking roaches around.

Bed Bug Infestation Laws? Are They Responsible For My Damaged Furniture Or Mental Distress?
After Moving Into My Dream Loft, 5 Months Later It Became Infested With Bed Bugs, I Was Told They Originated From A Unit On The 1St Floor (I Live On The 3Rd), Point Being I (And The Bldg Mgt) Know That I Was Not The Cause. They Fumigated Once So Far But To No Avail. I Am Moving And Am Throwing Away My Bed And Brand New Couch Out Of Paranoia Of Bringing Them With Me. I Have Also Experienced Much Mental Distress From The Bites And Can No Longer Sleep Well At Night. I Think Every Little Speck I See Is A Bug. I Asked For My Security Deposit Back At The Time Of My 30 Day Notice (So I Could Use It To Move) And They Said No. I Am Not Breaking A Lease, It Was Month To Month. I Am Wondering If They Are Responsible For The Cost Of Any Of My Things?

It depends on the landlord/tenant laws of your state, but in general, the answer's probably, "no." The landlord or management company didn't cause the bugs (another neighbor did, and those are the chances you take when you live in shared space), and they are apparently trying to resolve the problem.

They will have to return your deposit (minus any damages), within the time period specified by your state, after you've completely moved, provided you met the time limits specified for notification and moving (also specified by state law).

I feel for you. It happened to me once. I slept in a sleeping bag on the floor for a month until I could save up for a new mattress. One of the ways I learned the hard way that renter's insurance is totally necessary. (And surprisingly affordable, especially if you add it to an existing policy.) This time it was "just" bugs, but your neighbors could also start a flood ... a fire ... You know?

I hope you find a better new place. Best wishes.

Bed Bugs?????
There'S A New Apartment We Want To Get. The Previous Owners Left About 2 Weeks Ago Because The Bed Bugs Gave Them Rashes. There Is No Furniture Left, The Apartment Is Now Completely Empty, Save The Fridge And Stove. The Landlord'S Wife Cleaned It Out, Repainted It, If That Makes A Difference. It'S Been Empty For About 2 Weeks. The Previous Owner Had Professionals Try To Exterminate Them, Twice, And It Didn'T Make A Difference. Do Bed Bugs Leave If They Have No Food Or Humans To Feed On? Will There Be Any Bed Bugs Left, Is It Safe To Move Into That Apartment? All Answers Greatly Appreciated.

Right now I'm going through that. A friend of my mom's left a couch that contained bedbugs. She moved from apartment to apartment every few months. So she must've lived in an infested one and brought them with her. The couch was right outside my bedroom so of course my room is their new home. They are not fun and they are extremely hard to get rid of. This will be the second time I had to call the exterminator. I wouldn't be surprised if I get another visit from them. They can hide just about anywhere. Cracks, bed frames, tvs, under flaps of loose wallpaper, carpet even in the fridge and stove. They can go a year without eating. No wonder the previous owner couldn't take it anymore and finally left. It can get frustrating. In 3 months you can get over 200 bites. So far I've had 40-50 and it's been about 2 months. They are probably still in that apartment and waiting for the next person to come in and feed on. It's not worth it. If you move in there, they can get into your stuff and when you move out you could bring them along with you. Too risky! Don't do it!!! I've been sleeping like a cocoon lately. In a sleeping bag and a thin blanket over my face tucked tightly.

What Are Bed Bugs, And What Do They Look Like?

Bed bugs change in appearance based on where they are in their lifecycle and before/after blood meals. They start in small white eggs that are about the size of a pin head. At birth the instars (baby bed bugs) are approx. 1/16 of an inch and have a clear/straw color. After feeding they take on a reddish appearance from the blood. They pass through 5 instar stages and then become adults in the 6th stage. They move/require a blood meal to pass from stage to stage. As an adult they are about 1/8 of an inch and take on a brown/red color. They grow in size after a blood meal.

The resource has a picture of bed bugs at each life stage before/after each blood meal.

Bed Bugs.. What Can They Do To You?

Not much in most people. Most people show no reaction to bed bug bites. Since they don't spread disease, they are not a big deal. However, in some people, about 30%, there is some type of allergic reaction to the bite. In most people reactions set in within an hour and result in some type of round red area with a clear center. They should heal in 2 to 3 days. Very allergic people can have larger skin reactions such as blistering. In rare occasions, the bites could trigger a bigger allergic reaction such as asthma.
